Does Artificial Intelligence (AI) have a place in advancing your business through a Digital Transformation Strategy?

No matter the size of your business or what sector of industry you operate in, over the last 3 years the advancement in using digital tools, IT systems and software has accelerated rapidly. I'm sure we have all benefited from this digitalisation push, however as a business, what's the next step? How far do you go in automating your processes?

If you haven't already, it's worth stepping back and carrying out a digital audit on your business. Review your internal processes such as sales, operations, back office, finance, and marketing and just log what system, software, IT automation you're using, but also highlight where the existing analogue, manual operated gaps are. Then create a plan on how and what you can implement, technology wise, to advance your business further.

I carried out this exercise a couple of weeks ago as part of facilitating a group of businesses through Northumbria UniversityHelp to Grow Management programme. Certainly a personal development programme worth signing up for.

Link to express an interest as follows;  https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/business-services/help-to-grow-management-programme/

From carrying out the exercise, one thing that jumped out for me, was the time and effort it took to write blogs, posts for my website, social media and marketing purposes. Which can be up to 2hrs per article, after I have ruminated and thought about the subject matter for a good few days!

Therefore, jump forward to today and as a test, I asked ChatGPT (https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt/) an AI-bot, which is getting a lot of press, to write me a blog post on "Business Resilience" and the text/output is below.

Not a bad first attempt and took 5 minutes of my time. What do you think?

Personally, I though the piece is quite generic, with no link to any specific examples or deeper feelings and emotions in respect to the challenges around building business resilience. But potentially this AI generated blog example I can use to get a template to help me structure a more in-depth blog, and take less time.

So, work in progress, which I will revisit and plan forward accordingly.

I'd be interested in how you have evaluated your business from a digitalisation perspective, what you are currently working on or looking to implement, to automate your business processes further, as you move forward with your business growth plans.

Resilience in Business: Why it Matters and How to Develop it.

In today's fast-paced and ever-changing business world, resilience has become a critical factor for success. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity, overcome challenges, and keep pushing forward, even in the face of setbacks or difficulties.

As a business leader, having a resilient mindset can help you navigate the ups and downs of running a business and keep you motivated, focused, and positive, even in the face of obstacles. Here are some tips for developing resilience in business:

Embrace change: Change is a constant in business, and being resilient means being able to adapt to new circumstances and pivot when necessary. Embrace change as an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve, rather than seeing it as a threat.

Build a strong support network: Surround yourself with people who believe in you and your business and who will support you through tough times. A strong support network can provide you with the encouragement and motivation you need to keep pushing forward.

Develop a growth mindset: Focus on growth and learning, rather than perfection. Embrace failures as opportunities to learn and grow, and be willing to take risks and try new things.

Practice self-care: Taking care of your physical, mental, and emotional well-being is key to maintaining resilience. Make time for activities that bring you joy, and prioritize self-care to ensure that you have the energy and focus you need to overcome challenges.

Stay positive: A positive attitude is essential for resilience. Focus on the good, and seek out the opportunities and strengths in every situation. Surround yourself with positive, uplifting people, and avoid those who bring you down.

In conclusion, resilience is a critical factor for success in business, and it can be developed and strengthened through intentional effort and practice. By embracing change, building a strong support network, developing a growth mindset, practicing self-care, and staying positive, you can cultivate resilience and thrive in even the toughest business environments.
